The Trade-In Process

How does your trade-in process work?

Step 1

  1. Pick out your new phone:
    1. Start by ordering a new phone with our Infinite Unlimited+ plan.

Step 2

  1. Activate your service:
    1. First, activate your service on your new phone.
    2. Prepare your trade-in for shipment.
      1. If you have an iPhone, turn off your phone's anti-theft lock. (Find My iPhone on Apple)
    3. Factory reset your phone to its factory settings.

Step 3

  1. Ship us your trade-in phone
    1. Your new phone shipment comes with a box, bubble bag, and shipping label for each applicable trade-in. Put each trade-in inside its own bag and box, then seal them securely to avoid any damage during transit.
    2. Simply place your packaged trade-in(s) inside your mailbox for pick up or drop it off at the nearest USPS location. Please be aware that trade-in(s) cannot be shipped through Boost Mobile retailers.
    3. Trade-ins are typically evaluated within 3-5 business days after they are received. You’ll receive an email confirming its acceptance or further instructions if necessary.

How do I know if my current phone is eligible for trade-in?

If your phone is in usable condition, isn’t lost or stolen, and you have turned off your phone's anti-theft lock (Find My iPhone on Apple), it’s eligible for trade-in.


How long does the phone trade-in process take?

You’ll receive trade-in credits from day 1. Once you send us your trade-in phone, they are typically evaluated within 3-5 business days. You’ll receive a trade-in confirmation after the process is complete.


How will I receive trade-in credits for my old phone?

Your monthly trade-in credits will be applied to your bill. You’ll see these credits applied to your bill as a “Phone Discount”.


How should I pack my trade-in phone?

Your new phone shipment comes with a box, bubble bag, and shipping label for each applicable trade-in. Put each trade-in inside its own bag and box, then seal them securely to avoid any damage during transit.


How much time do I have to send in my trade-in phone?

Your trade-in must reach us within 30 days of your order shipment date. We encourage you to ship us your trade-in phone as quickly as possible after activating your new phone.


I’ve shipped my trade-in, what happens next?

Trade-ins are typically evaluated in 3-5 business days after being received. You will receive a trade-in confirmation after this process is complete. Note: if there are any additional actions required, we will send you an email with instructions.


Do I have to ship any accessories with my trade-in phone?

You are not required to include any of the accompanying accessories that originally came with your trade-in phone.


Why wasn't my trade-in phone eligible?

There are a few reasons why a phone may be ineligible for trade-in:

  • It’s not in usable condition
  • It was reported as lost or stolen
  • The anti-theft lock (Find My iPhone on Apple) wasn’t turned off

What happens if I cancel my Boost Infinite service before my phone financing is paid off?

If you cancel your Boost Infinite membership, the remaining balance for your financed phone will be due on your next monthly bill.
